Neuronline Website Redesign

Website redesign for the Society for Neuroscience community

Neuronline website — actual vs redesigned

Neuronline is the Society for Neuroscience's online community — 5,000 articles, 37,000 members across 90 countries. The site took 16 seconds to load, search returned results from the wrong domain, and navigation categories were so ambiguous that even content creators couldn't find their own articles.

I joined as SfN's first UX hire with three months to make a difference. Rebuilt the information architecture with neuroscientists. A single line of code fixed search. Load time dropped from 16 seconds to 4.5. Not everything shipped — the full redesign — reading experience, homepage, content templates — became SfN's roadmap forward.
